CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

Vivette's Dance Studio offers something for everyone!

PRE-SCHOOL
  • Our 3 year olds, called "Bitties", enjoy their own separate 30 minute pre-
ballet classes focusing on rhythmic patterns, songs, games and locomotor
movements such as hopping, skipping, sliding and spinning. Performing in
the annual recital gives them a chance to show family and friends what "big
    girls" they have become!

  • Our 4 year olds continue with pre-ballet and add basic tap skills into their
dance education. 45 minute classes incorporated balance games and build a
    strong foundation for the future.

  • Our 5 year olds are now old enough for a 60 minute class!  Whether
entering Kindergarten or finishing pre-school our Beginner level dancers
enjoy learning and performing ballet and tap skills and dances at the recitals
    and in the community.

ELEMENTARY CLASSES
  • Primary 1 dancers are usually in 1st and 2nd grade.  They continue with
ballet and tap and may also take additional classes such as pom-pom or hip-
hop.  Ballet work begins to incorporate barre and center work.  Tap begins
working for speed and more complex skills.  Some dancers choose to join
    our Mini-Stars Competition Team.

  • Primary 2 dancers are usually in 3rd and 4th grades.  Turns and leaps are
a daily part of ballet class.  The fun of jazz adds in to their ballet and tap
curriculum, as classes increase to 90 minutes, 30 minutes for each dance
style. Additional fun is available in pom or hip-hop classes.

  • Primary 3 dancers are usually 5th and 6th grade.  Skills are sharpened as
dancers work on an increasing variety of turns, leaps and ever more
    advancing skills.

  • Our Rising Stars competition team is an option for Primary 2 and 3 dancers
who just love to dance.  Many choose to do solo's or duets with a friend for
added fun and the reward of striving to be your best to win that 1st place
    trophy.

MIDDLE SCHOOL, HIGH SCHOOL and ADULT
  • Dancers at this level may "pick and choose" from a menu of classes that
includes ballet, tap, jazz, pom, and hip-hop.  A class or two fits some
dancers busy middle and high school schedules while our Jr Stars and Sr
Stars teams offer the more competitive dancer a chance to grow and excel.

  • Young Adult classes are a great way for those who "used to dance" or who
never had the opportunity to take dance lessons to learn a new skill.

  • Teens and Adults enjoy our Middle Eastern Dance classes as well!
Exercise that let's you dress up and wear "bling" ....how great is that?

  • Our "Hot Mama's" jazzercise group stays limber and laughs our way to
    fitness.
