FACULTY
Vivette Ashen-Brenner, Miss Vivette or Miss V , to her students, began her
dancing career at the age of 3 when she began ballet classes with Ruth Mitchell. She
was a firefly in her 1st recital and she simply loved it.  She continued to take dance
classes as a child and later at the Omaha Regional Ballet Academy under the
direction of Valerie Roche.  She attended college at the University of Nebraska at
Omaha, majoring in Elementary Education with a minor in Performing Arts.  

Miss Vivette opened Vivette's Dance Studio in the basement of her home in 1979,
while also teaching classes and acting as Program Director at the YWCA.  The studio
later moved to it's 2nd location at 676 S. 9th street.  In 2003 ground was broken for
the new location at 1102 Armory.  

Miss Vivette has performed in many area plays, worked as choreographer and
director for Summer Stage at Salina Community Theatre, and choreographed high
school plays for Central High School, including " Forum" "Grease" and "Pajama
Game". She has choreographed for show choirs:The  'Stang Gang at Lakewood
Middle School, The Sensations at South Middle School, Free Spirit at Central High
School and New Dawn at South High School.  

Miss Vivette has been the local studio co-ordinator for the Moscow Ballet for 2005,
2006 and 2007, rehearsing and preparing local dancers for their awe-inspiring
performances in the Moscow Ballet's Great Russian Nutcracker at the Stieffel
Theatre.

She performs as a Belly Dancer under the name Tahira.

Miss Vivette is a member of Dance Masters of America, Chapter 28 Heart of America.
 To be accepted as a member of DMA, applicants must pass a written exam in at
least 2 of the subjects they teach, pass a physical exam by being able to
demonstrate steps and combinations as asked by the examiners and choreograph
and perform an improvisation to music of the examiners choice.  To remain a member
of DMA, teachers must submit at least 10 hours of continuing education hours each
year.  

Miss Vivette is married to Sid.  Her daughter Lisette works at McDonalds. Miss Vivette
loves to knit, creating and giving away over 100 hats for needy school children. She
is a substitute teacher for USD 305 where she is known as "Miss V".  When she can
find the time, Miss Vivette loves to read.
Miss Rachel: Rachel Bouza is a Junior at Bethany College majoring in International
Business Management.  She is currently the captain of the Bethany College Blue and
Gold Dance Team.  A native of Tonganoxie, Ks, Rachel has been dancing since she
was 3 and has been trained in ballet, pointe, jazz, tap, lyrical, hip hop, pom and
ballroom dancing.  In high school, she competed in “Starpower” and “Showbiz”
Competition circuits and received High Gold awards in her small group and solo
routines.  Rachel recently competed in “Nations Best” and received 3rd in college
solo category and 2nd in college team division.  She is very excited to help Vivette’s
Dancers grow and excel in dance.
Teaching Assistants

Michelle Beasely
is the TA for Thursday  classes.  Michelle earned her substitute
certificate with 50 hours of classroom time as an assistant.  Michelle is a  member of
our Starfeet team. She has many years of dance experience in ballet, jazz and tap.
Creatively talented in many area, she loves art and creating costuming for Anime
Conventions.
Suzy Weller - This is Suzy's 1st year as TA, working on her substitute certificate.
She is a member of our Starfeet team and is active in drama at Central and SCT.
Sarah Frazier - Sarah is a TA for Monday classes working on her substitute
certificate. She is a member of our Starfeet team, and attends Sacred Heart HS..
Jessie Brockway often fills in as a substitute teacher and teachs cheer classes
when her busy schedule permits. She is a member of Ell-Saline's dance team and
our Starfeet team.

Sarah Woolsey is our Mon/Tue Receptionist. Her daughter Maddy is a member of the
Tue Middle School team. class studying ballet, tap, jazz and pom.
