first child’s instruction is full price; Additional siblings receive an $8.00/month discount. Termination of services
by the parent/guardian must be done in writing and dated, in order to avoid future billing. All payments may
be brought to the studio during business hours, mailed in or deposited in our secure locking mailbox.
Payments may be made by credit card, check or money order. Cash payments should be made to our desk
personnel so they can write out a receipt.
The fee is the same for all months September through May. There is neither reduction for “short months”, nor
an increase for months with 5 lessons.

LATE FEE: There is a $15.00 late fee per month for lessons paid after the 15th of the month, and for late
costume fees. This is non-negotiable. Unpaid fees may result in student not being allowed into class,
expulsion from the recital, the inability to sign up for future classes, and your debt being turned over to a
collections agency.
Any dancer more than 2 months in arrears will not be allowed to dance. If you have a financial problem, talk
to Miss Vivette or office staff, we may be able to make special arrangements.
DROP-OUT FEE: Students withdrawing from Vivette’s Dance Studio the 2nd semester (Jan.1st-
Recital) creates problems for the other dancers and the teachers. Choreography must be changed to
accommodate for their absence. Therefore, a Drop-Out fee equal to a month’s tuition for the number of
classes dropped will be assessed to your account.
WITHDRAWAL FROM CLASSES: You must give me written notice of your dancer’s withdrawal from
classes 2 weeks prior to the beginning of the month. A withdrawal from studio form must be filled out. Not
showing up anymore does not count as notice. If you do not notify me in writing of your withdrawal, you will
continue to be billed for classes for up to two months at which time we will remove you from our enrollment
and turn the unpaid account over to collection.
RECITAL FEE: $30.00 Single student/ $40.00 family is due by October 30th for those participating in our
spring recital. This fee is non-refundable after Jan. 1st. Costume deposits for Recital costumes are due by
Dec. 15th. Costumes are ordered before Dec. 31st, after which parents are held liable for their child’s costume
expenses. If you do NOT intend to get costumes, you MUST inform the studio in writing before Christmas
Break, or pay a $15.00 per costume cancel fee.
RETURNED CHECK FEE – There will be a $30.00 charge on all returned checks.
ABSENTEES, TARDIES: Roll will be taken at each lesson. Please assist your child in having regular
attendance so that they will not fall behind the rest of the class. Your absence does not reduce our cost of
doing business; there are no adjustments for missed lessons.
INSTRUCTORS: All of our instructors are college-degreed with many years of teaching experience behind
them. Teen students may work towards their Teacher Assistant certificate (25 hours) and their Teaching
Certificate (50 hours) by assisting one of our instructors. TA’s may be called upon to substitute in an

RECITAL INFORMATION:
“iDance” will be our 37th annual recital.
The recitals will be Saturday, May 19th.
There is no admission charge for the recital.
COSTUME INFORMATION:
Each student will be required to purchase a costume(s) for the recital.
A charge will be posted to your account in November towards the actual cost of the costume. The charge will
be $55 for Bitty through Primary 1, $100 for Primary 2, $150 for Primary 3. The charge for older dancers will
be $65.00 per costume. After all costumes and accessories are ordered and received, you will either be billed
for the remainder due if any, or receive a credit on your account for the difference between the deposit and
the actual cost. We generally do not go over the deposit amount; we try very hard to keep costume costs
reasonable, reusing and recycling when possible.
Costumes for Pom, Adult and students taking single subject classes will be billed on an individual basis. In
general, child sized costumes are approximately $55.00, adults $65.
The costume deposit is due by Dec 22, 2012. You may pay the deposit in full or in payments.
A $15.00 per costume late fee will be assessed after that date.
Voluntary fundraisers to help parents pay for dancer’s costumes may be held. Occasionally a class will need to
order a pair of shoes in a different color, especially if the class will be attending a competition where leg color
must match shoes color. We try to avoid this, but it is sometimes necessary.
Some costumes maybe ordered through costumemanager.com this year.
Deposit payments are refundable until I order the costumes.
SOLO POLICY: Seniors perform a solo of their own choreography. Individual costumes may be
ordered or borrowed from the costume storage.
Other than seniors, to perform a solo in recital, dancers must be a member of the Starfeet
Competition Team and must have competed with that solo in at least one competition.
OTHER PERFORMANCES: We perform at many nursing homes, clubs, malls, charity events and basketball
games through out the year. These performances are very important to the dancer’s growth as a performer
and also to the audience. Dancers are expected to attend as many of these as possible.
Younger dancers may perform their Halloween dances near Halloween and Christmas dances in
December and early January at area nursing homes.
We will try to perform at several nursing homes in May, before and or after recital.
COMPETITION: Our competition teams are called Starfeet. Our teams are commitment based; any dancer
with the desire to compete may do so as a member of our teams. Teams will be divided by age. We hope to
attend several regional competitions this year, and perform at area nursing homes and other exhibitions.
There are extra costs associated with competition.
DANCE MASTERS: Miss Vivette is a proud member of Dance Masters America, Heart of America Chapter 28
out of Kansas City. Members of DMA are “certified by test to teach”, meaning that applicants must pass
rigorous written and physical tests in at least 2 subjects, and submit proof of continuing education hours each
year.
SALINA DANCE ASSOCIATION; Vivette’s Dance Studio is a member of the Salina Dance Association. We
abide by all SDA policies.
OBSERVATION WINDOW: Parents are able to observe classes through our observation windows. The blinds
will always be “open” unless there is a need for privacy such as measuring or trying on costumes. Parents
should not be in the dance rooms during class.
T-SHIRTS, JACKETS, CAR EMBLEMS; Recital T-Shirts are passed out to each student near recital. All
students receive a recital T-shirt as part of their recital fee. Studio and Starfeet Jackets may be ordered
several times during the year. We may take orders for or sell other T-Shirts during the year. Car Decals may
be ordered at the Dancewear Sale, and at other times during the year.
PARKING: Parking is available in our lot, along the street, and across the street in the Armory’s lot.
NO STREET SHOES IN THE STUDIO’S PLEASE! They bring in dirt and sand, which is very unpleasant for
the dancers, when the work on the floor. There is a shoe rack outside each dance room. We have a locker-
room if dancers need to change into or out of street clothes. Teachers and Sr. Dancers may “claim” a locker.
ACHEIVEMENT AWARDS: All students who complete the year of study will receive an achievement award
trophy. These are a gift from the studio to our students in recognition of their hard work during the year.
Awards are picked up at the after recital parties.
