TO THE POINTE!
Vivette's Dance Studio's July 2010 Newsletter

1). SCHEDULE - Schedule is up on the website and a copy is enclosed. This is version 3, updated July 15, a
slight “tweak” from version 2. Haven’t really heard much feedback so either the schedule is really good or you
just have been to busy to let me know if you have an issue.

Please remember that it’s early and the schedule can/ will probably change somewhat.

1A) Also enclosed is a pretty simple, “Choose Your Class” form. I would really apppreciate it if you would
choose your classes and mail in or put in the studio mailbox as soon as possible so that we (Chelle and I) can
figure out any changes.  The contract is on the back, please sign and date. If a class fills up before we get your
form, we’ll let you know right away.

2) BBQ! It’s time for our 2nd Annual Studio BBQ.
This year the date is SATURDAY, JULY 31ST. (which just happens to be National Dance Day) and the day after
Miss V’s birthday, so it’s a great time to celebrate with friends new and old. .
Time: 6:00-8:00
Place: Sunset Park, big shelter just off Republic entrance, across from playground
What to bring: A side dish or dessert, Vivette’s Dance Studio is providing hamburgers, hotdogs, drinks and
table service.
Nice to bring: lawn chairs, games, your smiling faces.
If it rains - we’ll move it to the studio. (Hope it doesn’t rain!)

3) June:
We’ve been working in tech and turns and leaps classes this summer on Mondays, Wed  and Thursdays , and
Primary 1 and Primary 2 combo classes have been enjoying working on skills and dances. The Beach Baby
Preschool mini camp was a blast! Our belly dance ladies are preparing a veil routine that will show off our grace.

Several dancers have taken some great trips this summer; Jessie Brockway to Missouri for a dance camp, Katie
Stanley-Lorson to Germany to visit family, Zoe Rea to California to finalize adoption of her younger brother and
sister to mention a few.

Miss Vivette has made a couple of trips to Omaha to visit family. She’s been working on the studio garden,
replacing a dying rose bush with a healthy one, and planting  lavender bushes on Amory. She has also been
working on the long neglected scrapbook for 2009-10 and is making great progress with the costume closet
project and the locker room project. Miss V has managed to read 4  books, and has been busy knitting in
preparation for the Tri-Rivers Fair.

Chelle has been busy packing up The Dance Academy in preparation for joining us, playing with son Jett in the
spray park, taught some fun classes and has been sweating through Zumba as a participant not teacher, fun to
be on the other side sometimes!   She’s running fundraisers for the Bowl Game particpants, including a garage
sale and working at Abilene fair. She took a trip to Florida with other Bowl Game directors in June. In addition to
all of that she was the choreographer for Broadway RFD’s “Charlie Brown” and is working on camps for the
Kansas Weslyan dancers.

July
Wed tech is no longer meeting. Dancers are welcome to drop in on Monday Tech and Thur Turns and Leaps,
both 4:30-5:30.  Classes end July 29th.

August:
Work days will be scheduled Aug 1-8. We’ll be painting and planting (if we can borrow a rototiller somewhere) ,
cleaning and having some fun!
Open House will be Saturdays, Aug 14 and 21 1-5pm. Meet, greet, eat, shop: We’ll be fitting for shoes, etc.

4) Website: keep checking the website for updates and be sure to join or “like” the Vivette’s Dance Studio Fan
Page on Facebook for updates. If you are not getting emails from Miss Vivette, please send us an email so we
can get you on the list.  During the school year it’s very difficult for me to return phone calls, I rely on email .  I
try to keep the website up-to-date so that you can find answers there when you have a question.

5) Chelle and I would like you to remember that “We’ve always done it this way” does not apply this year as we
blend our two studio families together.
Be patient with us, read the notes and it will all work out beautifully!
