TO THE POINTE!
Feb 2010 Newsleter
1. STATEMENTS: Statements are attached to this newsletter.
2. RECITAL!
Our 35th recital “Celebrate! Back to Broadway” will be on Saturday, May 22 at 1:00 and 4:00 at Central
High School. I have not decided how to arrange the recital this year, it’s quite a jig saw puzzle to put
together. As soon as I can, I’ll let you know!
3 RECITAL DANCES:
All classes have begun learning their recital dances drawing on technique learned in 1st semester. It’s
very exciting!
I will soon be burning cd’s of the dancers practice music. As I get them done I will post a $2.00 charge in
the Misc category on your statement These take me quite a while to do, so you’ll get them when they are
done.
4. RECITAL COSTUMES: Some of our costume lines have arrived and a few odd sizes here and there.
Quite exciting! The majority will not arrive until late March or April. All costume packages will come with
all the tights and headpieces you need. Some adjustments will need to be made as some costumes for
the older girls ran over “budget”. We will make these adjustments in March. Some costumes may need to
be taken in, or pant legs shortened. I’d wait until April to do these adjustments as dancers can grow so
fast!
Costumes not paid for will have a late fee applied to their balance.
5. RECITAL T-SHIRTS: The name list for the recital t-shirt and the size lists will go up on the windows at
the end of the month. Please check spellings and okay sizes. If you do not okay sizes, you get what I
guessed your dancer would wear.
Many parents like to order recital t-shirts also, just add your name and size to the list.
For those new to our studio: each year we have a t-shirt that reflects the theme of the recital, each
dancer receives one, and each dancers name is listed on the back. The cost of the shirt will be posted to
your account when received. Usually $12-$15.
A lot of our senior dancers have had quilts made with all the shirts…a little bit of home in the college
dorms. We keep the design a secret until they are passed out.
6. WELCOME BACK!
Miss Rachel is returning in February from her internship in Brazil. She’s posted some AMAZING photo’s
