Jan 7 Vivette’s Dance Newsletter
This is week 19 of our season already!
I had some trouble with constant contact last week but I always post the newsletter on Band and on the vivettesdance.com website.
PERFORMANCE: We had a lovely performance at Holiday Resort on Saturday, Jan. 6th. Afterwards one of the residents thanked me for coming and said, “You don’t know how much it means to us to have the children come to dance.” I see improvements in the dancers each show in their confidence and poise. Sometimes that improvement shows as being a 5 yr old solo and sometimes it’s being a not- quite 3 who stayed on her spot the whole dance. I’m so very proud of them.
I have been playing phone tag with Smokey Hill Rehab so we may have one more holiday performance on Jan 20th… Stay tuned…
INVOICES: invoices will as usual run through on the 10th
COSTUMES: We had fun trying on costumes this week! The tap line for Constellation had to be returned for poor fit and the dancers helped me pick out an alternative. Those won’t be in until March and April but we have plenty of time. I’m working on building the Constellation ballet. I got notice that the Sparklers costumes have been shipped so we will try those on when they arrive.
NEW DANCES AND SONGS: We have begun learning our dances for our spring recital. Some of the music might not be available on itunes, amazon music, spotify or youtube so if you’d like a particular song, let me know and I’ll try to email it to you.
LOOKING AHEAD :
· Our 49th recital is set for Sunday June 2.
· Picture day will be early May when all costumes are in.
· We don’t have any breaks until spring break March 11
· New classes are scheduled to begin in February .
If the snowfall predicted is bad enough to cancel school, I will cancel dance this Tuesday. Please check Band and FB page for notices. If you don't feel it's safe for you to bring your dancer, let me know. this could be a whopper of a storm, or just fizzle out, it's Kansas...who knows.
