March 17 Vivette’s Dance Newsletter

Hi All!  Hope everyone had a nice spring break. The weather was wonderful. This week begins what my husband has always called Silly Season as we rush rapidly towards recital and the end of this dance year.

1.       ATTENDANCE: It’s important that dancers come to class to learn their dances and feel confident in performing them.  It’s also the time of year that they have difficulty in transitioning from playing outside to coming to dance. It’s normal, it’s not that they don’t like dance, they love it, they just don’t want to stop the fun that they are currently having. Best is to not start something fun they will have to interrupt or stop.

2.       INVOICES – RECITAL FEE - $60 single student/ + $20 additional student will run on by March 29. I do not sell tickets for our recital. The recital fee includes unlimited seating, recital t-shirt for students and end of year award. I pay to rent the theatre, print programs and other expenses.

3.       COSTUMES: I am waiting for 1 costume due to arrive April 29th.  All tights have arrived and will be placed in costume bag, I will be sending costumes home in April as I finish steaming them. All fees must be up to date at the time.

4.       PHOTO day:  We take group and individual photos of dancers in costume. It is optional to purchase the photos of your dancer. We will provide you with a flash drive of all your dancers’ photo’s. The fee is $40 per dancer.  I know May is busy but due to waiting on this last costume, we will have to do it in May.

5.       My first choice of date is Sat May 4th in the morning, 2nd choice is Sat May 11th.  Please check your conflicts and let me know.  Our classes are small and it’s not a group photo if everyone isn’t in it.  We move fast and you rarely must stay more than an hour, much less for the littles.  I try to group siblings back-to-back to make it easier on moms.

6.       Lists:  I will be sending home and posting many lists.  Please make sure you okay spelling on each one. Typos happen though I try hard to avoid them.  Each child receives a recital t-shirt, I need you to okay name spelling and size, if I’ve guessed wrong let me know.  Please change on the list or send me a text, message or email ,….I will probably forget if you just tell me, to be honest.

7.       Each dancer receives an award at end of year, please make sure I have their preferred name on it…Isabella or Bella?  Gabriella or Gabi? Gracelyn with one N or two NN?
